From Prussia With Love by Tina Christopher @goddessfish @TinaChristopher

Ten Of My Favourite Authors

Thank you for hosting me on my From Prussia With Love blog tour. I had so much fun writing this list. I LOVE to talk about books, so the opportunity to share some of my favourite authors and their stories was very exciting.

Nalini Singh is my hero. Not only does she write the most amazing stories that leave me breathless and have me hugging the book after I’ve finished, but she is also such a lovely person. I was fortunate enough to meet her a few times and each time she was a delight and more than happy to chat.
I love the Psy/Changeling series just that little bit more than her Archangel series. I love the world and the characters. There are fourteen books in the series so far and the way she tied up this particular story arch was just incredible. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next.

Tamora Pierce has been described as the first feminist YA fantasy writer. She is my comfort read. Any time I have a bad day or need a pick-me-up I pull one of her books off the shelf and sink into her world. I’d struggle to tell you which of her series are my favourite, but Beka Cooper and The Immortals are probably at the top. I love the way Pierce combines strong females, magic and incredible storytelling.

J.D. Robb is a must-buy for me. After fifty-one books (can you believe that?!) I am still completely and utterly in love with Eve Dallas and Roarke. J.D. (yes, I know it’s Nora Roberts;) has created this fabulous New York filled with a mixture of old and new. She never holds back and is a master at keeping me at the edge of the seat. While reading Devoted in Death my heart was pounding like crazy and I had to force myself not to skim read just so I could see if Eve would make it in time…I don’t want to spoil the outcome, but this latest book definitely a tense one.

I was hooked from the first sentence in Magic Lost, Trouble Found by Lisa Shearin. She has created the most fabulous fantasy world filled with elves and sexy goblins. Yes, you heard me correctly, sexy goblins. And man, does she pull it off. Another incredible world filled with unforgettable characters and a romance that still makes me sigh.

Continuing with my love for fantasy the next author on my list is Michelle Sagara. She writes this incredible “Cast in” series. Man, the main character, Private Kaylin, grows as a character because Michelle continuously puts her through hell. The level of detail and the complexity that goes into Elantra blows me away every time. If you’re looking for a series to get your teeth into this is the one to go for. You won’t be disappointed.

I can’t believe how long it took me to discover Lexi Blake. Her Masters & Mercenaries series is the most amazing romantic suspense with BDSM elements. Each of her titles is a play on James Bond movies, e.g. Master No, You Only Love Twice. Her characters are real and make want to hang out with them, the sex is super-hot and the plot is tense enough I sometimes I have to pace while reading. She also writes the Masters of Menage series with Shayla Black. I want to sit beside her while she writes and tell her to hurry up and finish because I’m so desperate to read the next book.

I just recently dove into the Black Knights Inc. by Julie Ann Walker. Ex-military alpha males and the women who love them, what more can you ask for.

Another one of my favourite authors is Patricia Briggs. I enjoy her fantasy, but I love her Mercy Thompson series. Mercy is a mechanic (Volkswagen only, thank you very much) and a coyote shifter who seems to stumble from one mishap to the next and in a world filled with Fae, shapeshifters and other creatures that is not necessarily a good thing. And don’t get me started on Adam, the werewolf across the road—well, he started out across the road.

I’ve been reading Lori Foster’s book for years. I love her brand of sexy mixed with humour. Say No to Joe was the first book I read and I laughed all the way through. Then came her MMA series, but the one I’ve read and re-read the most is The Men Who Walk the Edge of Honour. It’s darker than her other books and Dare, Trace and Jackson are some of my favourite heroes. If you’re looking for suspenseful contemporary romance with a sense of humour Lori is your girl.

I loved Maya Banks since reading the first Colter book, but she grabbed me by the throat with the KGI series. Six brothers, all ex-military, and the men who work for them make a fabulous group of alpha males, but of course they all meet their match in the women perfect for them.

Thank you so much for letting me stop by and gush about some of my favourite authors. Who are some of your favourites? I’m always looking for new authors, so please share;).

GENRE: alternative history, steampunk, erotic

Clara Redbeck has one goal: to prove to the sods at work—and to herself—that the best man for the job can be a woman. To do that, she must prevent a traitor from blowing London to bits. If only the dashing first mate of the dirigible she’d been tasked to plunder didn’t set her aflame.

Garrett Dewhurst has one goal: to execute the coup of a lifetime. His plans do not include a spanking dalliance with the most intriguing woman he has ever met.

With each encounter, the fire between them burns hotter and their need grows stronger. Finally, the cramped cabin aboard the Bismarck becomes their intimate playground, where Garrett introduces Clara to the pleasure of submission and they explore their passion in every way possible.

Clara and Garrett want a future together, but each holds a secret that if revealed could cost them everything. When danger closes in, they have to choose between protecting themselves or the whole of London.

She didn’t respond. Instead she studied him from the tips of his boots to the top of his head and every inch in between. Heat spread through his body, unexpected and not completely welcome.

Then she mirrored his stance right down to the raised eyebrow.

Unable to help himself, he smiled.

It had been a very, very long time since a woman had intrigued him after exchanging just a few sentences. She took his breath away and made him want to laugh. Judging by her frown, this was not the response she’d expected.

Garrett turned to Jens. “I believe you have other passengers to look after. I’ll take care of Miss Riesenbeck and anything she may require.”

Jens nodded. He bowed to both of them and practically ran away.

“I don’t know if I should be insulted at the speed of his departure or pat his cheek.”

Garrett chuckled. “Neither. I just think you are too much woman for him. He wouldn’t know how to handle you.”

She widened her eyes. “And you do?”

He curved his lips and knew his smile carried an edge. “Would you like me to prove it?”

She scrutinized him, leaving him hanging on the lip of the abyss, waiting for her response.

“Give me the tour Jens had promised to escort me on, and I will let you know at the end.”

Challenge curled through him. He bowed lightly but continued to hold her gaze captive. “Please step into my cargo hold.”

Her smile lit up her face. Her beauty was not conventional, but in that moment, it grabbed him by the throat. “Said the spider to the fly.”

“Will you step into my web?”

She turned around and threw a glance over her shoulder. “That has yet to be determined.” She strode to the door, and Garrett fell into step behind her.

AUTHOR Bio and Links:

Tina Christopher spent her early years flitting across the Channel between Germany and England. After touring the world extensively—from hanging out with elephants in South Africa to hiking through the wilderness in Alaska—she finally laid down roots in Toronto. Although Canada’s winters may be frigid, Tina’s characters are anything but!

Like most writers, Tina often hears voices in her head, but it took the encouragement of an editor friend to have her actually put fingers to keyboard. While those first stories will never see the light of day, she’s subsequently honed her craft and learned to build not just worlds, but entire galaxies. History has always been an area of interest for her, and she’s enjoys few things more than imagining what could happen when history and future meet.

When not imagining far-away worlds and scorching-hot encounters, Tina can be found on her sofa working through her never-ending TBR pile or venturing into the real world—whether to a nearby cafĂ© or a passport-required destination. She’s a member of the Romance Writers of America Toronto chapter and looks forward to where her characters take her next!
