Beautiful Rose by Missy Johnson: Character Interview

Character Name: Jack Falcon, (Seduce and Beautiful Rose)

Tell us about your family.
My brother, Alex, I would do anything for. He is my inspiration and my best friend. We didn’t have the best childhood; abandoned by our mother and fucked up by our father, but Alex has always been there for me. Oh, and of course, the other most important man in my life, Mr. Jefferies, my cat.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
It was always about music when I was a kid. I dreamed of starting a band and being famous. That didn’t exactly go to plan, but I still enjoy my guitar and jamming with my friends.

What are your favorite TV shows?
I’m going to be honest and say I quite easily get sucked into reality television. I’m talking Project Runway, Top Model, America’s Best Jewish Mom; the trashier the better as far as I’m concerned.

What do you do to unwind and relax?
The first thing that comes to mind is wildly inappropriate, so I’ll skip straight to the second. Music. Whether its listening to a great band, or writing my own songs, it always lowers the stress levels.

If you could apologize to someone in your past, who would it be?
Someone I once hurt deeply and the events that followed affected the rest of my life. The problem is sometimes you can’t say sorry. Sometimes it’s too late.

Morning Person? Or Night Person? How do you know?
Night. Definitely night? How do I know? Because I’m rarely awake to experience morning.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
That I almost lost my little toe in a fishing accident when I was Ten. My brother hooked it and yanked the hook right through almost ripping it open. It took forever to heal.

Jack Falcon is a new man. Three years after he left his life behind in London, Jack finally feels settled. He’s surrounded with everything that is important to him; a great relationship with his brother, Alex, a bar he is about to re-open, and most importantly, he has control of his life and his dreams. He knows he can’t undo the wrongs of his past, but he sure as hell can determine his future. He has worked hard to move forward and nothing is going to undo that.

Until he meets Rose.
Rose Wilson has never felt normal. Since she was a child, Rose has felt nothing but the overwhelming desire to end her life and she has no idea why. We live to die, so what’s the point in living? Rose has pushed the limits in the past, and pushed people away. She can’t figure out why Jack and Alex are so insistent on helping her. Twelve years of therapy has failed to help her, so why should they be any different?
Jack sees just how beautiful and important Rose is, but convincing her of that means putting his heart on the line, something he isn’t sure he can do. He can’t deny his feeling for Rose, but that doesn’t mean he has to act on them. And Jack isn’t the only one developing feelings for Rose.

Before Rose, Jack vowed he would never let himself fall in love again.

Before Rose, he had control.

But sometimes, it’s losing control that makes you really see what’s really important in your life.

Missy lives in a small town in Central Victoria with her husband, and her confused pets (a dog who think she’s a cat, a cat who thinks he’s a dog…you get the picture).

When she’s not writing, she can usually be found looking for something to read.
