Women of History: Empress Wu Zetian & Gwenllian ferch Gruffydd by Laurel A. Rockefeller

What inspired you to write this book series?

In early March 2014 I casually started asking people in person and online to name five to ten women from history who had made a difference.  As many of you know, March is Women’s History Month in the United States so it seemed like a normal, seasonal sort of question to ask.  What I did not expect was the inability of nearly everyone I asked to successfully answer the question. Most people simply did not and do not know about the accomplishments of women.  After fuming for a few hours and venting to a friend or three I decided to do something about it. After deciding upon Boudicca, I opened Tacitus, researched everything I could find at the time about her life and time, and three weeks later I published! The Legendary Women of World History Series was born!
