REVIEW

4 STARS

I enjoyed this mystery.  Two separate mysteries were interwoven seamlessly.  While the men were on a weekend fishing trip, their wives and sweethearts attended a prestigious writer’s convention. Both groups get pulled into investigating coincidental murders.

There were plenty of characters but the author excelled at giving each character certain quirks or mannerisms that made it easier for this reader to keep them individualized and separate.   The story was engaging, and often there were humorous scenes or dialogues which helped keep the story from becoming too dark.

The story progresses steadily from beginning to end, neither too fast nor too slow.  The plotting is meticulously constructed and was logically presented.  I especially enjoyed the guys’ portion of the book and their fishing exploits. (LOL)

I have read several other mysteries by this author and always enjoy her style and attention to detail.  This one is no exception.  With its unique blending of crime solving for two very different murders in two very different locations, this is a tale no mystery aficionado should miss.
