GENRE: Political Suspense/Thriller
Code Name Trackers: The elite of the elite. FBI agents, each with a secret, an extraordinary ability that defies reason and logic.
An intricate scheme to kidnap the children of high-ranking politicians on Capitol Hill gets disrupted when private investigator Kerry Branson rescues one of the victims.
Teamed with FBI Tracker Ryan Barr, they discover the plot extends to the Office of the President and—the horrific plan has drug cartels and terrorist cells lined up to cash in.
Tim snorted, saying, “Lane … he’s a dirtbag. Several cases on Bullman were dismissed when the witness either disappeared or recanted their statements.”
“Tim, can you find out who he has represented?” Ryan asked.
“Yeah, I can, but I’m getting stretched pretty thin here. We’ve got the prostitutes along with the drug informants and now need to add the research on an attorney.”
Cooper said, “Let me work the attorney angle. The district attorney and I are golfing buddies. I can get the information.”
Ryan said, “Coop, we also need weapons and a vehicle. It was the reason Adrian was headed to your office this morning, a requisition mission,” which elicited a chuckle from Mike.
Cooper looked at Adrian and smirked. “Since we don’t want Adrian coming to the office, I’ll have the vehicle delivered here. I’ll load the trunk with whatever you need. You can leave the rental car, and I’ll have it picked up.”
Tim looked at Cooper and said, “If we’re going hunting, we need undercover vehicles. It would be helpful if those cars didn’t scream ‘fed.’ These people get spooked real fast when they see a cop car coming their way. We also need money to sweeten the pot. Give them a reason to talk to us.”
“The cars won’t be a problem, and I’ll handle the money. How much do you need?” Cooper said.
