Obsessed With Me by Eve Rabi: Spotlight and Excerpt

Tarago Jakobus was 6’4”, intelligent, extremely wealthy with a Midas touch. He was also openly racist, politically incorrect and a chauvinistic pig who told offensive jokes. He loved to party and was used to women vying for his attention. So when his eyes fell on Tanin, he expected her to just melt into his bed and be grateful that he even looked her way.

To his utter surprise, she was totally unimpressed with his wealth, thought he was an uneducated buffoon and publicly rejected him. Of course he was shocked and humiliated by her response.

But no woman had ever turned Tarago down before, and he found her fascinating. He became obsessed with her and decided to win her over his way – destroy all that is precious to her, so that she would have no choice but to need him. If that didn’t work, he’d switch to plan ‘B’ – take away her freedom and throw her ass in jail. And being the absolute bastard that he was, he did.

Obsessed With Me is a modern-day love story.

“The moment I agreed to marry her, I realized I was making a big mistake.”

“You agreed to marry her?”

He nods slowly, his lips turning downward. “I had no choice but to do the right thing.”

“Wow. That is huge,” I say. “Does she realize this?”

“I told her the night before we got married.”

“I told her that I will do my duty and marry her, give our baby my name, but my heart belongs to Tanin.”

“What? You told her that?”

He nods and continues. “And when I saw you at my wedding with that white bastard …” he blows out his cheeks and shakes his head, “I wanted to punch him in his smug face.”

Mission accomplished then. I allow myself an inward smirk. A number of inward smirks. Big ones.

He lets out a long breath and looks directly at me. “I guess I’m not over you, Tanin.”

Mm. Funny enough, all his declaration of love means zilch to me today.

“What about Alison?” I ask.

His eyes grow wide. “I …how did you…?”

“She told me.”

“Tanin, it was nothing.” He shakes his head. “You were the one. They were there… and ….” He waves dismissively. “Now, I’m thinking in a year’s time, you will be free and I will leave Rheema, and we can still take off where we left.”

He reaches out and takes my hand. “You and me…how do we deny ourselves?”

I smile. “You mean I must become a home wrecker, Ashwin. I can’t do that.”

“No, no, I will leave her. I will marry you. We’ll go legit.”
