Mirror Deep by Joss Landry: Spotlight and Review

Mirror Deep by Joss Landry

…Roll like thunder in Kat Bonner’s world, when a known felon comes to the ranch to drop a bomb about her past. Kat turns to Pierce for help, the same Pierce who bucks her every chance he gets … and whose feverish investigation lands them in trouble with the law and directly in the path of a serial killer.
Mystery deepens, fraught with wrong turns, bumbling detectives, old murders, and Kat’s doppelganger no one ever sees but her, just as she never sees the change in Pierce’s feelings toward her brewing, mounting, until she can no longer deny them.

4 stars

This romantic suspense kept me interested all the way through as Kat learns she is adopted just after her birth mother dies.  Her world is turned upside down when family secrets and rivalries are revealed.

Kat leans on Pierce, and he is a stalwart friend throughout the turbulent days.  I thought Kat was often childish and immature, but amazing with the horses.  Pierce was patient and sensible; he and Kat had grown up together so he knew her moods and temperament.  I loved the chemistry between them.

I enjoyed this debut book from Joss Landry.  The suspense unfolded gradually as the characters’ flaws and backgrounds fleshed out the story allowing the mystery to be unraveled with flair and inner satisfaction.

This book was given to me by the author in return for my honest review.
